We are once again heading down to the New Orleans area this coming December. One may ask were we have been and always as life goes very fast it seems theses days. We all have bills to pay, unfinished projects, and trying to keep one’s nose above the water line is tricky theses days.
But we are putting our pennies together and heading down that way to bring some more instruments to the kids and play music where ever anyone is in need of being cheered up.
This time around we will be bringing down Mike Mead from New Jersey. I met Mike at the Asbury Park Clearwater Festival last Aug. As I always do where ever I go I ask folks if they want to go down. Mike was one person who said yes and after some time we figured a time and place. Below is what Mike sent me:
“I have been a musician for over 30 years. I write songs, play in a band called Lackawanna Rail. I love music and it is a huge part of my life. I’ve known Bill Hudson for several years and when I heard what he was doing down in Louisiana; I knew right away that it was something that I had to do. I asked Bill when we were playing at the same festival in Asbury Park if I could join in on his project and he was happy to have me. I think it is important that musicians and entertainers like me to keep the world smiling even through the toughest of times. It’s very magical to watch a person faces when I tell them what I am doing and the way that so many dig deep to try to help.”
Also here is a story that NPR did last month:

Besides all that here is hoping all had a safe and warm Thanksgiving and keep an eye on our blog as Mike and I go along. We thank Mike for coming along!
